Recoat Roof Stix is an innovative product designed for the efficient treatment of roofs. It provides excellent insulation and adhesion when applied correctly. Paying attention to the substrate is crucial for the best results.

Substrate Preparation: A thorough assessment of the substrate is essential for successful application. Ensure that the surface is:

  • Clean
  • Dry and load-bearing
  • Free from dust, moss, and algae
  • Grease-free

Prior to application, we recommend thoroughly vacuuming the roof after cleaning. This ensures that all fine dust is removed from the pores, contributing to optimal adhesion of the product.

Application Instructions:

  • Apply Recoat Roof Stix in the correct amount; avoid thick layers. A thick layer can lead to poor adhesion and insulation.
  • The product is designed to penetrate deeply into the pores of the substrate and anchor itself there.
  • When used on bitumen, Recoat Roof Stix may exhibit a brown discoloration; this is normal and indicates that the product is providing good insulation.
  • After a drying time of 1 to 2 hours, the roof can be finished with Recoat Roof (see TDS Recoat Roof).

Important Warning: Applying too thick layers may prevent the product from drying quickly enough, resulting in poor adhesion and insulation.

Application Advice:

  • Always create a test patch before application.
  • Apply the entire system on the same day to avoid having to clean again on a different day.

With Recoat Roof Stix, you can be assured of a durable and effective treatment for your roof. Ensure proper preparation and follow our instructions for the best results.

Assessment of the Substrate

A proper assessment of the substrate is essential for a successful result. Ensure that the substrate is clean, dry, and load-bearing. It must be free from green growth, moss, oil, grease, salts, and other contaminants.

Pre-Treatment of the Substrate

Pre-treat the substrate with Recoat Roof Stix. This primer ensures optimal adhesion of the Recoat Roof coating.

Application of Recoat Roof

After the primer has dried, which takes approximately one hour, you can apply Recoat Roof. This can be done using either a roller or an airless spray system.

Product Preparation

Before use, the product should be mechanically stirred. It is advisable to apply the entire system in one day. This prevents cleaning work between layers.

The Recoat Roof system is a complete and durable 3-layer roof renovation system for bitumen roofs, consisting of Roof Prime, Roof Stix, and Recoat Roof.

Roof Prime ensures optimal substrate preparation and adhesion to bitumen. Roof Stix is applied to seal and reinforce critical details. Recoat Roof then forms the protective top layer: an advanced, fibre-reinforced roof coating based on a 1-component acrylic dispersion.

Thanks to its elastic composition, the coating remains flexible and waterproof without hardening under UV exposure. The fibre reinforcement allows for a thinner application without compromising protection or durability.

The system is silicone-free, PFAS-free, and fast to apply: the complete system can be installed within approximately 3 hours after cleaning. In addition, the white roof finish reduces roof temperature and improves the performance of solar panels.
