Convincing test results confirm the effectiveness of antimicrobial coating in combatting the spread of COVID-19 virus.
AM Protector is an innovative coating that provides long-term protection: not only against bacteria and mold, but also against all kinds of virus particles. Dutch companies Recoat and Dercom developed AM Protector Technology, an antimicrobial technology on which mold, bacteria and viruses cannot survive. The AM Protector Technology has been developed and tested for over two years.
The effectiveness of the technology has been demonstrated in many tests that have been carried out. After test results on March 3rd 2021 with the COVID-19 virus, the effect of the Dutch invention has been confirmed with convincing figures: the antimicrobial coating is no less than 96.84% effective against the COVID-19 virus.
Gérard de Bresser, director of Recoat, says: “The coating is incredibly effective. It is water-based, easy to apply, has a long-lasting effect and its condition can be tested via UV light. As a result, we offer the user the assurance of thorough and optimal protection of surfaces, even when combatting viruses such as COVID-19”.
Especially in public spaces where many people congregate, such as railway stations, airports, hospitals, schools and offices, the risk of spreading the virus is high. By applying AM Protector on surfaces such as tables, counters, handles, sanitary facilities and doors, but also leather, artificial leather and soft plastics, these gain long-term protection and become inhospitable to mold, bacteria and even viruses such as COVID-19. As a result, not every surface has to be continuously disinfected and cleaners can work more efficiently.
In the United Kingdom and Turkey, Recoat distributors are already working extensively and successfully with AM Protector. The AM Protector Technology can now also be used in all types of paint. The Swedish distributor is currently working on field tests of floor coatings provided with AM Protector Technology. There is also a lot of interest in both the technology and the products in other European countries, as well as in the United States.
Gérard de Bresser: “It goes without saying that we are very happy with the wonderful test results. The pandemic reaches all of us and the ability to contribute to reducing the spread of the virus makes me a very happy person”.
